Student Climbs Kilimanjaro to Say Thank You.

Jemima Bright wanted to find a way to say thank you to the Special Care Baby Unit who saved her life. She was born 21 years ago, 13 weeks early and weighing just 2.2lbs. Now a student at Oxford Brookes University, Jemima decided a fundraiser was just the way to say thanks, and why not make it a challenging six-day climb of Mount Kilimanjaro! The money raised will help replace incubators in the NICU needed for extremely premature babies.

Jemima Bright, 21, who is from Sarnesfield and is studying Geography at Oxford Brookes University, flew out to Tanzania at the end of August to begin her six-day climb of Mount Kilimanjaro to fundraise for the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) in Hereford.

Jemima, who was born at 27 weeks weighing 2.2lbs, said: “The whole experience was incredible, I still find it surreal to think I’ve done it.
